You know these times when you think that someone or something appears in your life just for you and because it's meant to be? Yes I'm talking about a hedgehog who suddenly appeared in our garden around 12 a.m :p. No seriously, lately I've been studying soooo much for my coming exams and as a result I was a bit down of it when all of the sudden this little guy showed up. I think this was the second time I saw a hedgehog in real life and even from this close!

It was amazingly cute and somehow I felt it was there for me to cheer me up and say: c'mon Eva it will be alright, you can do it! Even if the hedgehog wasn't there for me but in a search for a good place to rest, I don't care. Through my eyes it was special and it came on the right time :)

A Delicious Disaster

Hiya folks,

So yesterday I've watched the movie Ratatouille again which is practically about a rat who gets to cook in a top restaurant and becomes friends with a human guy and stuff, anyway it got me thinking that it would be quite amazing to be a professional chef, you know what I mean: preparing these delicious 5-star meals, inviting your friends to diner and letting them get a big smile after slurping the first drop of your delicious well-cooked soup ... yeah I'm describing someone else's qualities cause they are definitely not mine. For example a few weeks ago I baked some cupcakes with a good friend of mine, the results:

At first sight you're probably thinking like: oooh but that isn't that bad, stop whining about food you moron. Well to be honest, these three guys are the only survivers of our crucial baking hands cause the other ten cupcakes looked truly terrible and so we were ashamed to photograph these deformed monsters  

              cause they would ruin the picture.     

In addition as the incredible cooks we are ( well actually this friend of mine is a true cook but I think I have a bad influence on his skills ) we used fondant on the top of the cupcakes that tasted as playdough clay because we thought fondant and marzipan were actually the same thing, so why should you even try to search for marzepain when you' can't find it and you're standing right before fondant in the supermarket right? Wrong! Never make that mistake and search for the right ingredients! Also before baking these cupcakes we brainstormed about the look of the fondant-top and so we decided to make cupcakes with actual figures on it like a rose,a cat and seriously even the face of Mario:

Oke let's be honest: does it even have one similarity to the real Mario? No seriously, what were we thinking? I don't even know if that thing under the nose is his mouth or the moustache. Unfortunately as you can see this was the level of us baking cupcakes.

                         

Well atleast after removing the playdough-fondant of the little sweets they tasted great and three of them came out nicer than we thought even when the others looked like a toddler of five could have made them. It's a bit sad I know but hopefully there must be someone around you guys who has also ever made cupcakes like these beauty's ... no? w-wel that's oke... The Riches Of Crete

Kaliméra!

Holy Jezus, again I totally vanished from the planet.. yesh. Buuuut I've had a proper reason this time because I went to a place which was similair to Heaven called Crete. So to enjoy the sun, food and to relax I've been quiet for a couple of days without typing a new blogpost. Ironically I was busy with writing something new literally around fifteen minutes BEFORE our taxi arrived and so after writing about three sentences ( yeah, the inspiration also took a vacation back then ) I had to shut down the computer :p.
  

Anyway, I went to Crete and stayed in an amaaazing resort with nice people, beautiful environment, a cool beach and a sunny weather. Also, even when the water from the swimming pools consisted such an overdoses chlorine that my bikini couldn't handle the amount and after a couple of days happily and careless swimming looked like a dog had peed on it, the pools were great and I believe there were eight of them in the whole park ( ofcourse I only swam in max four or three of them and didn't even try to search for the other five. )

Furthermore for the rest of the days, except by going to Hersonissos which was nice, watching the world cup that ended in a match I actually forecasted right for a time and taking these stunning breath taking pictures ( because yes a chair is such a miracle of life ), I just relaxed and enjoyed the sun but this time with a cold slush in one hand and french fries in the other. In general going on vacation is a great and wonderful time when you actually get encouraged to be lazy and do nothing.

Fly, Van Persie, Fly

Hi all

I'm back again! Revived from the death! Woohoo! Yeah!

....

Oké no, lately I've been trying many times to write a good blogpost but seriously: it's really hard to write something interesting when your life is a boring hole at the moment. And besides, I had much better stuff to do ( watching tv, eating, you know the interesting things in life. )

Speaking of watching tv, maybe I've been a bit productive lately. I've been watching the World Cup and cheering really loud for my country, which is Holland for the people who think I'm someone from outerspace. I really like to watch the World Cup though with my family and especially with my dad who becomes really tense and funny during the game ( which results in two people screaming and dancing through the room at each goal for us. )

But I need to say that I'm quite proud of our team. For example: yes we are that team with the flying Robin van Persie who headbutts the ball into the goal perfectly straight. In addition, we've also got Arjan Robben who is my favorite football player and broke the speed record like he was a rabbit fleeing for a cheetah. However, I'm not sure we will get to the finals. I mean yesterday we played against Mexico and it was amazing that we've won in the last five minutes with 2-1, but the other countries are also really good like Belgium and Germany.

Yet one of my forecasts was that the Netherlands would lose against Chili, but hey, that match ended in a 2-0 for us and proved that I'm a terrible forecaster and that it isn't handy for me to ever gamble in my entire life. So I concluded that even when my feeling says a lose in the semifinals it will be the opposite. Well this is it for now. Shopping Haul!

Guess what ... it's June! What does that mean you ask? Well: summer, friends, vacation, dresses, sleeping, extensive dinners, sunbathing, beach, city, swimming,  and everything you like to do because YES WE FINALLY GOT TIME FOR ALL THAT SHIT :D!

So this weekend I went to the city with some of my friends and there were some thingies which were literally screaming to be purchased. So as the nice person I am... I bought them :p. Well in the first place I went to the city because I needed a cheap new pair of shoes because that same night I would go out with another friend, but ofcourse I'm a girl and so I came back with a few shoppingbags more ( at least it stimulates the economy! ) But I'm really happy with my new stuff and so I decided to make a blogpost about it. So be prepared for the most thrilling, awesome and exciting shopping haul you've ever imagined! ( or just laugh about the money I wasted..)

               CROCHET LL BEDJACKET - New Look

Holyshit! I LOVE this cardigan! When I saw it hanging in the New Look I grabbed it with ninja speed. It's just so amazingly cute and because it's a cream colour it fits almost with every clothing piece you've got. I prefer to combine it with a dress and because the material is airy it is the perfect cardigan for summer.

FLORAL PRINTED RUNNING SHORTS - New Look

                                       

Oke, I won't use these shorts as actual 'running shorts' because I'm a lazy bum, but they are so cute for the beach or just for really hot days! I love the floral print and the strings are the finishing touch. These shorts are cute and not that expensive, thus: the whole package.

LION EARRINGS - Six

 My friend spotted these cute little guys and both of us fell in love. So we bought them and we got no regret. The lion earrings give me a bit of an african feeling and let me think about Mufasa from the Lion King. I think these accessories aren't ordinary at all and they are a nice addition to my jewelry.

PEARL NECKLACE - H&M

I wish they were real pearls but I still like this necklace and not to forget it was reaaaally cheap. It's always handy to have a necklace like this for a theme party or something like that and it's also nice to wear it just in everyday life. It's a bit old-fashioned I must admit, but in secret I think I have a soft spot for that style.

GREY SNEAKERS - H&M


  

At the end I've bought new shoes anyway. These sneakers aren't that special but they were also really cheap and it isn't a problem if they become dirty when I go out with some friends. Also, light grey is an absolute fresh colour and they walk perfectly fine.

So this was my shopping haul. I think my favorite item I've bought is the cardigan because it's amazingly cute and it fits perfect. But ofcourse I'm glad with all the shit I've bought and I will definitely wear all of it.
